Cisco’s
Black Belt Academy join hands. Throughout the pandemic, the magic caused 300 PPE masks being dispersed to hospitals. For Christmas of 2022, it implied that 170 kids had smiles on their faces when they were amazed with Christmas gift baskets filled with canned goods, noodles, and chocolates to take home to enhance their families’Christmas dinners. These kids are Aeta, an indigenous individuals who live in remote, resource-poor villages in the Philippines. Their households send them from their mountain towns to the Aeta Kid’s Home in the city of Zambales so they can take advantage of the complimentary education provided there. Throughout the VST ECS”what should
our year-end contest be?”conceptualizing session, an executive who had actually done volunteer deal with the Aeta Kid’s House nominated them as he understood that the Aeta children would be going back to their houses for the Christmas vacation break. Business Social Responsibility activities become much more
sustainable when they mix and integrate with the company’s key business objectives, leading to a real Win-Win!– Gaurav Kumar Sharma, Cisco Black Belt Academy With the Aeta children in mind, VST ECS produced a strategy to “do great”while inspiring the partner community.
In November 2022, they introduced a month-long “Black Belt Certification for a Cause”contest for their partner community. The challenge: for each Black Belt Certification made by employees of any VST ECS partner during the month, the supplier would donate a Christmas present basket to these kids. Partnering for Purpose, certainly. Between philanthropy & profitability a Black Belt smile initiative is the bridge VST ECS wanted to motivate their partner neighborhood to acquire more certifications– whether for engineer or sales staff– because they understood that the certifications result in ability, understanding, and self-confidence in selling Cisco options. So the supplier launched the” Accreditation for a Cause “contest, understanding it would be a win-win for the children, for the
partner community, and ultimately for them. The response was wonderful! In a single month,
and Cisco Philippines cracked in for 20 more baskets so that no child returned home empty-handed. The results: 170 present baskets were provided to ecstatic children as they headed to their mountain villages and the arms of their households. The 30 Black Belt trainees were also rewarded: at a virtual graduation event kept in December, each new Black Belt expert was recognized, then sent out a gift certificate fora regional food delivery app plus a VST ECS/Cisco logo design coat. The supreme result, of course, was that VST ECS developed greater engagement and
goodwill throughout their partner neighborhood. The children are back at Aeta Children’s Home now, with pleased memories of plentiful Christmas dinners, while 30 members of the VST ECS partner community are leveraging their new Black Belt Academy knowledge for success. And VST ECS is currently preparing for more magic in 2023.
