If that holds true, you might be thinking about a service and desktop app called Ora. The service is yet another job management tool that provides an impressive web-based interface however likewise a nicely created desktop app.

One of the great features of Ora is that it enables you to import from all of the services I mentioned in the past. If you utilize Asana, Jira, Trello and GitHub, Ora could be a single point of entry for those services. How do you make this connection? Let me show you.

What you’ll require to import Trello tasks into Ora

The only things you’ll need for this are represent both Ora and Trello, along with the desktop app. You can install Ora on Linux, macOS and Windows. I’ll show on Pop! _ OS Linux. You do not have to fret about having a paid account for either service, as this will work on the complimentary tier, so make certain to a minimum of sign up for the complimentary editions for both.

How to set up the Ora desktop app

The first thing you’ll need to do is install the Ora desktop app. On macOS and Windows, it’s as simple as downloading the installer file and running it. On Linux, you install Ora through Snap, which suggests it’s restricted to just those circulations which support Snap packages.

On Linux, you open a terminal window and install Ora with the command:

sudo snap install ora

When the package is installed, open it and log in with your Ora account (Figure A).

I did encounter a problem with both the Linux and macOS apps at this moment. When clicking the Trello icon, I got the mistake:

Invalid return_url. The return URL need to match the application’s allowed origins. Contact the designer.

If you see the very same mistake, you’ll then have to turn to the web-based variation. The procedure for connecting Trello to Ora is the same. In either case you go, a pop-up window ought to open where you can link your Trello account to your Ora account.

Once the connection is made, you’ll then be triggered to pick which Project to link (Figure E).

Let Ora do its thing and you’ll very quickly see your Ora account populate with items from the Trello job. Even if you had concerns importing from the desktop app, that Trello task will appear after you have actually successfully imported it from the web-based variation.

And that’s all there is to importing Trello projects to the Ora app. Hopefully, the developers of Ora will fix this concern in the desktop app, so you do not have to do it like me and head back to the web-based version for the import. However, no matter which way you go, you can get it done and delight in dealing with numerous projects from a single user interface.
