With Composable, Big Memory Solutions Based Upon Intel Optane Persistent Memory, Liqid, and MemVerge Build a Bridge to Future CXL Performance

Uncategorized

Liqid, the world’s leading software application company delivering data center composability, today announced it is working together with big memory services pioneer MemVerge and innovation industry leader Intel to deliver composable memory services for big memory computing. With Liqid Matrix ™ composable disaggregated infrastructure (CDI) software application and MemVerge ® Memory Maker ™ software, Liqid and MemVerge can pool and manage DRAM and storage-class memory (SCM) devices such as Intel ® Optane ™ Persistent Memory (PMem) in versatile configurations with GPU, NVMe storage, FPGA, and other accelerators to perfectly match special workload requirements. The joint options deliver unparalleled scale for memory intensive applications for a variety of client use-cases, consisting of AI/ML, HPC, in-memory database and data analytics.

“We are pleased to work together with innovation market leaders like MemVerge and Intel, leveraging our shared competence in software-defined information center architectures to provide composable, big-memory services today,” stated Ben Bolles, Executive Director, Item Management, Liqid. “Intel Optane-based options from MemVerge and Liqid offer near-memory data speeds for applications that need to maximize calculate power to successfully extract actionable intelligence from the deluge of real-time information.”

Swimming pool and orchestrate Intel Optane Persistent Memory for memory starving applications today

DRAM costs and the physical restrictions of the media have hindered deployment of effective, memory-centric applications across use cases in enterprise, government, healthcare, digital media, and academia. Clients who require huge memory solutions can deploy totally composable, disaggregated, software-defined huge memory systems that integrate MemVerge’s in-memory computing competence with Liqid’s capability to make up for Intel Optane PMem and other important accelerators.

“Our composable big memory solutions are a fundamental part of a general CDI architecture,” said Bernie Wu, VP Organization Development, MemVerge. “The options are likewise a solid platform that customers can leverage for release of future memory hardware from Intel, in-memory information management services from MemVerge, and composable disaggregated software from Liqid.”

With the joint, big memory CDI solutions from Liqid and MemVerge users can:

  • Attain greatly greater usage and capacity for Intel Optane PMem with MemVerge Memory Maker software application;
  • Enable ultra-low latency, PCI-Express-based composability for Intel Optane-based MemVerge services with Liqid Matrix CDI software;
  • Granularly configure and make up memory resources in tandem with GPUs, FPGAs, or network resources as needed to support distinct workload requirements, release resources for use by other applications once the workload is complete;
  • Swimming pool and deploy Intel Optane PMem in tandem with other data center accelerators to decrease big memory analytical operations from hours to minutes;
  • Increase VM and workload density for enhanced server debt consolidation, resulting in reduced capital- and functional expenses;
  • Enable much more in-memory database computing for real-time data analysis and enhanced time-to-value.

Building a bridge to future CXL performance

CXL, a next-generation, industry-supported adjoin protocol built on the physical and electrical PCIe interface, guarantees to disaggregate DRAM from CPU. This permits both the CPU and other accelerators to share memory resources at previously impossible scales and delivers the last disaggregated aspect required to execute genuinely software-defined, completely composable information centers.

“The future transformative power of CXL is tough to overstate,” said Kristie Mann, vice president of Item for Intel Optane Group at Intel. “Collaboration in between organizations like MemVerge and Liqid, whose respective proficiency in huge memory and PCI-Express (PCIe)-composability are well-recognized, deliver services that offer performance now that CXL will generate the future. Their option produces a layer of composable Intel Optane-based memory for true tiered memory architectures. Solutions such as these have the potential to deal with today’s cost and performance gaps in big-memory computing, while providing the perfect platform for the smooth combination of future CXL-based innovations.”
