Ant Group notes OceanBase on AWS Market to increase reach

In its effort to make its database services readily available to customers internationally, Alibaba affiliate Ant Group on Thursday stated that it had noted its OceanBase Cloud in the AWS Marketplace.Listing the dispersed SQL-suitable database will allow AWS clients to access it quicker and resolve their transactional and functional work, the business said.OceanBase, which was madereadily available commercially in 2017, started off as a task in Alibaba in 2010 to replace Oracle and support the enormous transactional work of Alipay, Alibaba’s financial services arm.The database supports hybrid transactional analytical processing (HTAP)– an architectural approach where a database gathers information that is later copied to another system for analytics.In August, the company launched the latest version of the database, called OceanBase 4.0, with features such as no data loss rate and a catastrophe healing time of less than eight seconds compared to the previous release’s recovery time of 30 seconds, making it suitable for little and medium-size businesses.OceanBase expects to support other public cloud provider quickly.”OceanBase, which is cloud-neutral, will continue to work with cloud suppliers to broaden access to ourtried and true abilities in handling data-intensive deals and numerous real-time analytical workloads,”stated Yin Boxue, general manager of public cloud services department at OceanBase, in a press release.Ant Group’s technique to note its database on the AWS Marketplace assumes significance as several other China-based databases, such as Apache Doris
